In this 1997 title, two private investigators, one a Chinese American living in New York City's Chinatown, uncover a deadly conspiracy surrounding the glitzy Manhattan fashion scene. Cindy Cheung portrays PI Lydia Chin with the buoyant enthusiasm and likability that has made her a continuing character in Rozan’s series. Down-to-earth yet subtly intuitive, Chin is a far cry from most fictional detectives. Thanks to Cheung's reading, she becomes even less of a traditional investigator, a fact that makes this story all the more interesting. Cheung bends her voice to create realistic accents for the wide variety of supporting characters in an inventive mystery that will keep listeners guessing.
