MIAMI, IT'S MURDER

An account of the day-to-day routine of a crime reporter in a city noted for crime starts Buchanan's second book about Britt Montero, a reporter for a Miami newspaper. The pace of the action increases as the plot continues, setting up exciting, life-threatening confrontations for the heroine. Sandra Burr's characterizations are excellent, with easily differentiated characters, both male and female. The narrative style seems too fast at the outset, particularly to appreciate the witty dialogue, descriptions and first-person musings.
