MISS WYOMING

by | Read by Sharon Williams, Aaron Fryc

Fiction • 6 hrs. • Abridged • © 1999

British reader Sharon Williams is miscast as young American females caught up in the world of movie stars and beauty pageants. Her portrayal adds to the difficulty of a convoluted story line with amateurish, hard-to-believe flashbacks, all for love. Using excellent vocal changes, narrator Fryc, characterizes shallow movie people with cynicism, pride and superficiality. However, even his depiction fails when he describes the author's analogy of eggs, brains and evolution as a humanoid omelet. Hard to follow, confusing, and frustrating--this one is best left on the shelf. G.D.W. © AudioFile 2000, Portland, Maine [Published: JUN/JUL 00]
