Quick presents another in her series of "racy Regencies"; in this one Iphinigia Bright poses as the mistress of Marcus Cloud, Earl of Masters, in order to trap a blackmailer. The subsequent twists of plot, both passionate and suspenseful, result in a light tale of deception, wit, sexual awakening and love. Narrator Barbara Rosenblat is at her best, with impressive variances of tone, intonation and emotional states. Her renditions of male voices are some of the best around, and she does a fine job reading the playfully erotic scenes between the two principals.
