MOSQUITO Part 1

An African-American, female truck driver named Mosquito discovers a pregnant Mexican immigrant in the back of her truck along her south Texas route. This initiates a growing participation in an underground Mexican railroad that provides sanctuary for immigrants. Rebecca Nicholas's performance combines narrative rap and poetry, creating an addictive rhythm. Her unique performance style serves Mosquito's external thought process well as she rambles from one experience to the next. Mosquito at times uses colorful diction; however, her healthy and curious nature, open-mindedness, exposure to travel, and fascinating friends reveal an extraordinary mind.
