RICHARD PETTY'S AUDIO SCRAPBOOK

A legend in stock-car racing, Richard Petty has lived it all. Petty comes from a racing dynasty; his father was driver Lee Petty. For this audio scrapbook, longtime racing broadcaster Barney Hall guides Petty and his cousin and crew chief, Dale Inman, through a lifetime's recollections of high and low points of stock-car history. The two men alternately bicker and joke, with each other and with former racers Junior Johnson, Bobby Allison, and David Pearson. Petty's wife, Lynda, contributes her own perspective of life in racing. The personalities in this production are real, and their conversations unscripted. One senses their passion for the cars and for high speeds. Hall's expert interviewing skill keeps the story on track, making for a polished and perceptive production.
