MONEY AND MARRIAGE GOD'S WAY

Christian money expert Howard Dayton offers financial advice for partners in all seasons of their marriage. His advice is based on a traditional view of the Bible's teachings (the husband is the decider) and on the seven financial steps taught by Crown Financial Ministries. The dialogues with financially dysfunctional couples are good illustrations of the hang-ups people can have about discussing and managing money. Once the author's inspirational energy finally runs its course, the program offers a decent menu of familiar advice—conservative but not too ideological. Dayton and his performance partners—his wife (also a therapist) and others—have pleasant voices, but the exaggerated enthusiasm in the author's phrasing might make it difficult for listeners to take him seriously.
