MURDER IN A CATHEDRAL

by | Read by Bill Wallis

Mystery & Suspense • 7.1 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1997

Ruth Dudley Edwards has written a humorous mystery, which includes high levels of Anglican ministry, as well as those who are outside of church society. The vivid description of the cathedral and the areas around it make it easy to picture the setting and people living there. Bill Wallis's reading does full justice to the plot's twists and turns, and he gives a perfect rendition of the characters' voices. Lady Troutbeck's manipulation and maniacal driving while talking on her cell phone; the small asides between Robert Amiss and David Elsworthy, the new bishop; the niggling arguments between the various clergymen--all add to the witty tone of the novel.
