MURDER ON THE POTOMAC

When an associate of a high-powered friend turns up dead in the Potomac, attorney-turned-law-professor Mackensie Smith finds himself dragged into a murder investigation packed with danger, deception and Washington politics. Richard Poe brings a rich, formal voice to this production, shading the voices just enough to delineate characters. His voice adjusts to the pace of the novel, staying even-keeled for the most part, but becoming more emotional and desperate as the action quickens near the climax.
