CAIRO JIM: SECRET SEPULCHRE OF THE SPHINX

Archaeologist-poet Cairo Jim; Doris, his Shakespeare-quoting macaw; and Brenda the Wonder Camel are involved in another “mystery of history.” As the trio attempts to solve a riddle that could lead to the discovery of an unusual monument to a pharaoh on the Giza Plateau—a find that would be more amazing than all the Seven Wonders of the World—Jim’s nemesis, Neptune Bone, sets about to ruin his reputation by declaring the find a hoax. Geoffrey McSkimming narrates this outrageously humorous adventure superbly. His pacing is perfect, and musical interludes contribute to the atmosphere of suspense. He gives personality to each of the characters—the voices of Doris and Brenda are standouts. The whole family will enjoy listening and want to hear more tales in the series.
