RETURN TO SULLIVANS ISLAND

Robin Miles's spot-on narration transforms this lightweight story into an engaging performance. Beth Hayes, a newly minted journalist, reluctantly returns to Island Gamble in South Carolina to house-sit the ancestral beach house while her mother goes off to teach in Paris. There Beth falls blindly in love with schemer Max Mitchell, and her life becomes a tangled web of lies. Miles authentically presents Beth's heartrending emotions, love for her family, and journey of discovery. Her narration lyrically moves from Beth's young voice to the Southern drawl of her African-American confidante. We almost hear sounds of the ocean waves and breezes that enter the haunted house.
