Best buddies Jonathon Payne and David D.J. Jones leap to action when Payne's girlfriend, Ariane, suddenly goes missing. The duo—former members of an elite Special Forces-like group—find themselves leaving a comfortable life in Pittsburgh and heading for a Louisiana swamp on a rescue mission. What they uncover is a disturbing, horrific place built for revenge. Dick Hill works wonders with the characters. Payne and Jones are differentiated well, and the host of villains have assorted demonic voices. Hill especially shapes two characters, a slow-witted cook and an injured woman.
