NO SUCH THING AS A BAD DAY

The author's own voice increases the intimacy of this frank and personal history, and although it is "lightly abridged," good cohesiveness remains. A Southern drawl reminds us of Jordan's Albany, Georgia, birthplace and makes his memories of the early Civil Rights Movement more poignant. The writer's straightforward descriptions of his conquest of three separate malignancies would not waste the time of any cancer patient.
