Helen Luke marries Jungian psychology and selections of classic literature in these essays on aging and death. The concepts are beyond the scope of this reviewer. What comes across is that the essays are well-developed. Luke, born in 1904, reads with the frail voice of an octogenarian. Initially, the aged voice is disconcerting though the British accent charms and endears. Her voice remains steady, and soon one appreciates every perfectly articulated word. No one could have read this more beautifully. D.W.K. Winner of AUDIOFILE Earphones Award ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: JAN 93]
