Rochlin's work is a recording of his critically acclaimed reader's theater production, which is now in print. Growing up in Nogales, Arizona, the author is the son of Russian-Jewish immigrants, and his service as a navigator in a B-24 bomber with the 15th Air Force flying out of Italy was his first time away from home. These vignettes of his WWII service are colorful and candid. He pulls no punches in these earthy memoirs, which show people at their worst, and best. Rochlin is a superb storyteller, and one is easily enthralled by his performance. The language and stories might be offensive to some. However, no one can deny that this is a first-rate storyteller in action. MT.F. © AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: FEB/MAR 00]
