In this concise yet incisive work, C.J. Mahaney explores the concept of humility and offers easy-to-follow suggestions for how Christians can practice it more effectively in their own lives. Pride is never passive, he writes, so defeating it requires an intentional effort. The blessing that follows is God's abundant favor. Sean Runnette’s narration is smooth and polished—emotional, introspective, and straightforward as needed, as well as reflective of the author's emphases. But one element of the production is jarring: The subheads are read, but the author's text flows smoothly from one section to the next, often repeating the words in each subhead.
