ONE BETTER

When you're part of a family with names like Spice, Golden, Mink and Sterling, you have to figure your adventures are going to be rich--and perhaps a bit farfetched. Narrator Lynne Thigpen gives this fast-moving story a warmth that the words themselves don't have. Thigpen makes you start to care about this mother and her two very different daughters, all looking for love, sometimes in the most ludicrous places, but always with enough humor and heart to keep the reader moving on.
