Here is a romance, three actually, in which the tables are reversed; it is the smitten men who pursue, and the women who resist. The women's characters are portrayed as tough and determined during the rough-and-ready parts of the stories, yet soften as the relationships develop and blossom into "roses" at the end of the vignettes.
