BONES

Eliza Foss shines in her narration of newspaper reporter Irene Kelly's seventh outing as part of an investigative team. This time they’re looking for the cunning serial killer Nicholas Parrish and his many victims, whose bodies are hidden in California's Sierra Nevada mountains. Foss's measured cadence finds unique voices for Irene, her detective husband, Parrish, and others involved in the mystery. Believable characters are as likable as the well-rounded protagonist (except for Parrish), and Foss’s portrayal of Bingle, the cadaver-locating dog, is a highlight of the story. Foss keeps the suspense high and the action flowing, smoothly blending the plot twists and the rhythm of the dialogue. S.C.A.
