THE OTHER END OF TIME

Science fiction legend Frederik Pohl, a Golden Age star with the stature of Heinlein or Asimov, proves once again that he can knock off a decent, cerebral sci-fi novel. This is a near-future work with little action; much of the book concerns a small group of human captives among poorly understood aliens. George Guidall adds his thoughtful, well-paced talents to the story. He makes slight distinctions among the voices of the various characters, by no means performing, but making them distinguishable nonetheless. There are no sound effects or other embellishments.
