This valuable historical document does not cry out to be an audiobook. The writing is mostly monotonous, telegraphic, and largely impersonal. Either Fahey was a very bland, conventional young man, or he elected not to commit his deepest feelings to paper. Reader Jeff Longe has wisely refrained from trying to inject drama where there is none. In a clear, youthful voice he rattles off what is on the page. Listeners who bring to this book a background of study or personal experience may find parts of it powerfully evocative; others may be bored. The audiobook producers have given it as much as anyone could. J.N. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: SEPT 94]
