Author Bujold once again demonstrates her writing prowess in the science fiction genre with a tale of civil war in a distant world. The story has multiple layers and offers plenty of outspoken opinions about the current state of our own planet. Narrator Grover Gardner offers a hearty reading that leaves listeners feeling satisfied but never stuffed. Gardner knows just how far to go while navigating the well-worn genre and never stoops to vain attempts to impress his audience.
