LEARN TO CONCENTRATE

by | Read by Aidan Moran

Personal Growth • 1.25 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2009

This short production explores a variety of simple techniques to improve concentration and productivity. Aidan Moran, professor of cognitive psychology and director of the Psychology Research Laboratory at University College, Dublin, presents a basic study on how concentration works, how it's influenced by personal attitudes towards the tasks at hand, and why it's hard to keep one's focus throughout the full scope of a project. The production includes several straightforward exercises and is geared toward both students and athletes. Moran's narration is calm and clean, but his lovely Irish accent doesn't quite make up for some stiltedness. Nonetheless, the presentation provides a serviceable introduction to practical focusing strategies. A.H.A. © AudioFile 2010, Portland, Maine [Published: MAY 2010]
