BEFORE AND AFTER

by | Read by Kate Nelligan, Dennis Boutsikaris & Ali Thomas

Fiction • 3 hrs. • Abridged • ©

The bludgeoned body of a teenaged girl catapults Ben and Carolyn Reiser into a battle to save their son, and their life. This is a psychological mystery which pits defense of one's family against defense of one's principles. Nelligan's voice and articulation as Carolyn are wonderful. Boutsikaris, as Ben, makes excellent choices as well. Thomas, as the child Judith, is good and should have been used from the beginning. Nelligan's voice sounds too mature and confuses the listener. Ultimately, the readers make the story more appealing than it is. M.S. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: APR 93]
