BEFORE I SAY GOODBYE

Mary Higgins Clark spins a tale of suspense with a twist of psychic powers. Narrator Jan Maxwell has just the right approach to portray the appealing heroine, Nell MacDermott, granddaughter of a legendary congressman and political aspirant. Maxwell takes a clear, straightforward approach, giving Nell the most defined portrait and resisting the temptation to overplay Nell's larger-than-life grandfather or the medium who puts her in touch with her late husband. Maxwell does a nice job of keeping a firm grip on the sometimes galloping pace of events. She also clarifies frequent scene shifts accentuated by the abridgment and delivers a highly entertaining program in the author's characteristic style.
