BEFORE I WAKE

A news reporter and a model have apparently committed suicide, but New York detective Jimmy Montone believes that the two have actually been murdered. To solve the case, Montone must discover the link between the victims, a British writer and himself. John Rubinstein's superlative performance draws the listener into this psychological thriller and never lets go. He immerses himself into the two lead characters--Montone, the hardened cop haunted by his past, and Terry Keyes, the suave, mischievous and dangerous writer. Keyes's playful but deceitful nature is brilliantly expressed, successfully communicating to the listener not to trust this character. Rubinstein skillfully creates a distinct personality for each character and masterfully handles different voices and accents.
