IRON RIVER

Parker has added something new to his Charlie Hood series—the supernatural, which comes in the form of Michael Finnigan, who has been mangled in an auto accident and spends most of the story in a hospital. While Hood is chasing arms traffickers from Mexico to the U.S., Finnigan is not only recounting from his hospital bed scenes from famous past events as though he had been present (a Wyatt Earp shoot-out and a Charlie Manson episode), he’s able to foretell Hood's immediate future. This is one mystical dude. David Colacci's virtuosity is clear as he’s called on to portray the Mexican desperadoes, with accents; the unstoppable Hood; and, his forte, the strange little man with the strange little voice, Michael Finnigan.
