A BEGGAR IN JERUSALEM

by | Read by Frederick Davidson

Fiction • 8 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1970

Anyone who has ever seen Nobel Peace Prize-winner Elie Wiesel speak will be disappointed with this tape of his political novel. A Holocaust survivor, activist, writer and teacher, he’s a magnificent orator, whose presence charges a room with lightning. Not that Davidson falls down on the job. He narrates beautifully; the very timbre of his voice is compelling, and he delivers an authoritative, intelligent and rich performance. He’s among the three or four best audiobook pro’s this reviewer has heard. But here he’s fay where Wiesel is virile, aristocratic where Wiesel is earthy, smart where Wiesel is wise, interesting where Wiesel is fascinating.
