THE POLITICS OF MEANING

Lerner, once described by the Washington Post as the guru of the Clinton White House presents his progressive vision of what America should be: The politics of meaning is the opposite of current, market-driven, politics. Lerner reads like someone who is part activist and part intellectual. (He has two Ph.D.'s). He narrates with fervor--which sometimes makes for a fast pace. At the same time, difficult locutions flow easily. While his voice isn't great, it's useful to have a true believer reading this radical and sometimes controversial work.
