MARRIAGE AND OTHER ACTS OF CHARITY

Listen to Kate Braestrup for any time at all, and her essential kindness reveals itself. As chaplain for the Maine Warden Service, Braestrup is present at rescues and tragedies and has ample opportunity to demonstrate that kindness. She explored that in her earlier book, HERE IF YOU NEED ME, but marriage is the theme here. She recounts stories of fighting with her husband in the early days of their marriage and grieving after his sudden accidental death, marrying a second time, and counseling one of her wardens as his marriage dissolved.
