Steven Crossley captures the listener's attention immediately with his English accent and voice full of intrigue and mystery. The first Queen Elizabeth is determined to stay single and to remain the sole ruler of England. But with no heir who will succeed her? What if, suggests author Robin Maxwell, she does indeed have a bastard son by her lover, Robin Dudley? She believes the son died right after birth, but in reality he was spirited far away to grow up in an ordinary English home, his existence no threat to the queen's reputation or power.
