Highwater has created a surprisingly lush, poetic tale based on the ancient Sanskrit legend of the warrior Prince Rama, his love for Sita, and his epic struggles with Ravanna's evil kingdom of Lanka. This alliterative prose, alternately pounding and peaceful, pulsates with rhythm in George Guidall's reading.
