This is a one-hour wonder, a clever little cupcake of a story about guilt, mental illness, and karma. Award-winning narrator Sean Pratt tells the tale straight down the middle, making it hard to discern which character to trust—which is on the up-and-up and which is crazy. Pratt doesn’t make the main character sound like a hero, which he’s not. But Pratt gives him enough dignity so that he doesn’t sound like a coward either. He’s just a guy who can’t live with his actions. Intriguing premise, memorable ending. Pratt’s rhythmic reading, his storytelling, is so compelling you’ll wish the book were longer than an hour.
