SHE'S SO DEAD TO US

Ally Ryan flees Orchard Beach in disgrace after her father’s disastrous financial mistakes. After a two-year absence, Ally hopes to rejoin her elite circle of friends, including popular Jake Graydon, on whom she has a crush. Rebecca Soler, Keith Nobbs, and Emily Tremaine portray the complications that ensue among the teens, resulting in revenge and heartache. The use of three narrators helps emphasize the different perspectives of the characters. Soler expresses Ally’s emotional vicissitudes, and Nobbs delivers Jake’s male bewilderment with humor. Tremaine’s voicings of other characters are a little wooden. Also, the sound level varies when the narrators switch.
