RIVER One Man's Journey Down the Colorado, Source to Sea

The river, the narrator, and the story all take a slow, retired man's pace as they trace the great Colorado from its source to its mouth in a rubber raft. First-person portraits of wildlife, geology, weather, and color convey the peace and the power of the mighty and important river. Narrator Arthur Addison's Midwestern speech and slightly raspy voice make it easy to feel the author's peace and sense of accomplishment, although he rarely and briefly reveals his inner emotions.
