There are really two stories going on here. The first is Seattle attorney David Slone’s pursuit of a toy company that knowingly marketed a product for kids that was potentially lethal. Dan John Miller's dynamic reading makes the courtroom scenes of the case realistic and explosive. The other story is that of Slone’s fight to obtain custody of his young stepson after the death of his wife, the child's mother. This part of the story is a heart-grabber, and Miller plays the emotional scenes for all they’re worth. The outcome of the custody battle is unprecedented. Miller is one of the few male narrators who can speak a female part credibly. Both the custody conflict and courtroom drama make this a compelling listen.
