What do you get when you cross sports fiction, murder, zombies, and a few doses of humor? Ryan Brown pulls off the challenging task of blending these diverse genres into a story involving dead high school football players and a witch who turns them into zombies to play a big game. MacLeod Andrews expertly voices Texan characters ranging from the quarterback and his crazed teammates to a mysterious old neighbor and the assertive coach. Characters also include the coach’s daughter, whose tone softens a bit over time, and an assortment of townies, including diner patrons and the local sheriff.
