THE ROCKFORD FILES: DEVIL ON MY DOORSTEP

Fans of the old TV show will think they've died and gone to heaven. Kaminsky captures the characters and situation with accuracy, and the story line has advanced--the story takes place some time after the death of Rockford's father, who is a fond memory. Beth Davenport is married, and not to Rockford. Reader Nick Sullivan sounds like James Garner but does not attempt to mimic the other characters. Yet he does give each an unmistakable individuality, so that Angel is always Angel and Becker is Becker and each bad guy is sharply delineated.
