Jeremy Davis, first-year student at the "world's most exclusive law school," isn’t above sacrificing his principles to gain entrance to “V and D,” the college’s exclusive society. “V and D” is allegedly behind securing positions for U.S. presidents, Supreme Court justices, judges, and corporate CEOs. When Jeremy stumbles across the dreadful truth about the secretive club, his very life is threatened. Rich Orlow’s intense and honest narration makes overdrawn characters and improbable situations seem possible. Orlow’s performance brings credibility to ambitious law students, nefarious professors, and the solutions to logic puzzles found in illogical places. However, not even Orlow can keep the novel from collapsing under the weight of its hyperactive, sometimes just plain silly, final moments.
