Biography & Memoir • 7 hrs 14 mins • Unabridged • © 1992

In this second volume of her autobiography, Fraser describes her Scottish working world as it looks from her wheelchair. Coping with the rigors of her textile factory job provides some insight into the challenges of the disabled, but one needs to get beyond the cloyingly inspirational tone. Or perhaps it is the dulcet voice of Jenny Lee that gives the writing the consistency of molasses. The Scottish accents don't help either, especially the booming men's voices. The logical listener would be one devoted to Miss Read, equally at home in either Thrush Green or Fraser's bonny Scotland. J.C. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: AUG 92]
