Two different adventures in this first volume feature 10-year-old Keisha, the oldest child in the Carter family, which specializes in urban wildlife rehabilitation. These are the people you call if you've got a baby alligator in the city pool, a skunk in the community garden, or a murder of crows attacking a mailbox. The problems Keisha encounters with these animals are kid friendly but sometimes too basic—and so is the voice provided by Harlie Vaughn, a Disney Channel alumna. At times the simple stories seem plodding—in both plot and narration. Mom, Dad, and Grandmom are fairly useless characters, so it's lucky the Carters have Keisha around to save the day.
