Tanya Eby's well-paced and well-acted delivery enhances the latest in the Maggie O'Dell series. Maggie, a smart, gutsy, and beautiful FBI profiler, is dispatched to Pensacola, Florida, just ahead of a hurricane, when body parts are discovered floating in a cooler in the Gulf. When Maggie learns that the remains are those of a man who disappeared weeks earlier, just before a previous hurricane, events take a decided turn. Eby is equally adept at conveying humor and building tension. Her portrayals of a mortician with "flexible" ethics and his spoiled wife are particularly entertaining.
