Teen author Adornetto reads her own U.S. debut, the start of a trilogy about a young angel sent to earth to fight evil forces in a small town. Adornetto’s juvenile tones perfectly match the insecurities and inexperience of 17-year-old Bethany as she accidentally falls in love with a mortal. Bethany’s melodramatic tones clearly reflect her loss of naïveté as Jake, an agent of darkness, carries out one horrific event after another. With extensive description that detracts from the plot, this production is overly long, and though Adornetto does an admirable job voicing the characters, better paranormal romance titles are available.
