Listeners won’t know what to fear in this parody: the zombies, the serial killer, or the uncanny performance by Phil Gigante, in which he sounds strikingly similar to Garrison Keillor of Lake Wobegon fame. When an asteroid causes the return of the dead, the residents of Lake Woebegotten, Minnesota, band together to fend off the undead herds. Unfortunately, it is the citizenry who are the bigger problem. Though this is a satire of the zombie narratives of recent years, Geillor manages to spin a zombie story that is surprisingly better than many. Gigante delivers it with all the vocal quirks found in Keillor’s speaking patterns, including a deeply throaty voice and a tendency to let words linger.
