DUST

by | Read by Eva Amurri

Fiction • 10 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2010

No one will accuse Turner of trying to romanticize zombies or a world that may contain them. This book is just plain creepy, with a malady sweeping the earth until it seems that no one can stay dead. The undead join together in gangs for protection and to search for fresh meat. Eventually, most rot away into dust. The youngest, Jesse, tells the story. Narrator Eva Amurri clearly reflects the dwindling of their strength and of any hope that the gang members can help each other. As members of the gang fade away, Amurri presents them as less and less substantial. Despite the darkness of the book, Amurri maintains a sense of camaraderie among the gang members.
