THE RED BLAZER GIRLS: THE VANISHING VIOLIN

by | Read by Tai Alexandra Ricci

Children Ages 10+ • 7.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2010

The four Red Blazer Girls from New York City return with another series of mysteries to solve. Tai Ricci portrays the girls as witty and clever as they investigate a violin theft from their friend’s repair shop and research the origin of another valuable instrument. Their wealthy benefactress, Elizabeth Harriman, provides grandiose advice in a cultured voice that suggests old money. Ricci has some trouble with dialogue. Without distinct voices for the girls, it’s often difficult to figure out who’s speaking. The book’s puzzles may also confuse listeners as they’re hard to visualize without the accompanying text. However, Ricci presents a lively mystery steeped in the ambiance of New York City. Her humor will keep listeners on board despite the drawbacks.
