Reich, secretary of labor in the Clinton administration, discusses why the economy collapsed in 2008 and what we need to do about it now. As narrator, Reich reads with the confidence and forcefulness of someone who has had to defend his positions in the most competitive environments. Except for some uncertainty with his diction early in the book, he is an articulate raconteur who has command of his pacing and an obvious connection with the text. He even attempts character voices throughout the book, giving us approximations of Adam Smith, Benjamin Franklin, and George W. Bush.
