SHADOWLANDS

Sibley's popular biography blends the writings of C.S. Lewis, especially THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA, with a chronicle of his marriage to Joy Davidman. His tragic love for Joy forces Lewis out of emotional "shadowlands" and into the deeper faith he has so long professed and taught. David Suchet's reading is moving and impressive, both in his narration and his characterization of Lewis. However, when he reads Joy Davidman, he so exaggerates the New York nasal that the listener's concentration is completely destroyed.
