THE SHERWOOD HERO

Prince creates the perfect modern heroine, who models herself on Robin Hood. When she realizes that stealing for the poor is not the solution, Kelly learns a great deal about herself and about kindness. Tomelty masterfully portrays Kelly and her friends and family in an intermingling of generations and accents as the family moves from London to Glasgow. The story is rich in dialogue, and the text is outstanding. Inner thoughts and raw emotion all blend and are realistically conveyed by the narrator. Several tearful passages are especially well presented. THE SHERWOOD HERO is a bittersweet tale for all ages. Any listener should be deeply enriched by listening to Kelly tell her story. S.G.B.
