Mark Hammer is a masterful story-teller and reader. He shines in his presentation of Short & Shivery. SanSouci has chosen 30 ghostly tales from around the world, which are perfect to be read aloud in the "Hammer style." Most of the stories are ancient and have been preserved through the storytelling tradition. The Japanese skeleton who haunts his murderer or the Norwegian woman who accidentally attends a mass for the dead are both effectively relayed. However, some of the tales are ineffective because the content has nothing to do with the delivery. A young audience would most enjoy these chillers.
